About me.
Hey, I'm Justin! I'm based on the west side of Chicago by way of Michigan. I moved here a few years ago and have loved every second of it.
When I'm not designing, I'm usually either in my kitchen or out with my camera. I run a small bakery out of my home called Ferm Co., sourdough mostly, plus English muffins and bagels that I sell to my friends, family, and neighbors. Bread has a way of humbling you. You can do everything right and still end up with a weird loaf. I've been baking long enough to know that the process is kind of the point.
I also shoot landscape photography on a Fujifilm X-T30. It's a small camera that makes you slow down and do a little more thinking before you shoot, which is honestly what I like about it. I'm mostly drawn to quiet scenes. Water, open skies, that kind of thing.
On the work side, I'm a designer with six years of experience in B2B SaaS. I studied graphic design in school, which means craft has always mattered to me as much as function. Most of my recent work has been in AI, helping people make sense of complex data and actually do something with it. I like problems that have some weight to them.
If you want to talk design, bread, or cameras, I'm easy to find.
