WhatsApp Business templates are essential for proactive customer outreach, but creating them has always been frustrating. Meta requires pre-approval for all outbound messages, with strict formatting rules, character limits, and content guidelines that vary by template category. Customers struggled to write compliant copy, often facing repeated rejections without clear guidance on what to fix. The process demanded too much specialized knowledge and slowed down campaign launches.

I designed an AI-powered template creation experience that fundamentally changes this workflow. Instead of starting from a blank text field and hoping for approval, users describe their message intent in plain language. The AI generates compliant copy tailored to their use case, automatically handling Meta's requirements around variable placement, button configuration, and content restrictions.

The design focused on building trust in AI-generated output. Users can see exactly what the AI produced and why certain choices were made, with inline explanations for compliance-sensitive elements. They can edit freely while the system validates changes in real time, catching potential rejection issues before submission. The goal was to make the AI feel like a knowledgeable collaborator rather than a black box.

Beyond the generation itself, I worked on the end-to-end flow from intent capture through approval status tracking. This included designing category selection that helps users understand which template types fit their needs, preview states that show exactly how messages will render on device, and clear feedback loops when Meta returns approval decisions.
